Carpentry apprentice Lauren Bartle, triumphed at the Peterborough Telegraph Awards 2021, winning the Intermediate Apprentice of the Year category.
The judges particularly highlighted her willingness to “grasp every opportunity to improve both her practical skills and understanding of site operations.”
Speaking of the win, Lauren said: “I am over the moon to have received this award and to see the hard work that I have put into my apprenticeship being recognised.
“Larkfleet Group is such a supportive place to work. The whole team has been amazing at teaching me about the construction industry and helping me to improve my practical skills.
“I thoroughly enjoy learning and developing my craft on site and am excited about the progress I have made and the potential for my future at Larkfleet.”
Karl Hick, Chairman of Larkfleet Group said: “We are extremely proud of Lauren for the efforts and resilience she has shown throughout these past few years. This award is testament to her commitment and enthusiasm towards the job. Lauren started her journey with Larkfleet in 2019. Since then, she’s grasped every opportunity to learn and develop her knowledge as she pursues her ambition to become a site manager one day.
“At Larkfleet, we recognise the importance of nurturing young talent and giving them the opportunity to gain valuable experience and qualifications, especially in light of the current skills shortage within the construction industry.
“Congratulations to Lauren on this fantastic achievement and we look forward to seeing how she continues to progress throughout her career.”
Larkfleet Group was also shortlisted as Large Employer of the year due to its commitment to supporting and upskilling young people.
