Sponsoring Grantham Tennis Club and Gym

Updated: Dec 16, 2022

Larkfleet Group is pleased to support the Grantham Tennis Club & Gym through sponsorship of the 10&U Performance programme for the next two years.

Earlier this year, it was announced by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) that funding for 48 Local Player Development Centres (LPDC’s) in Great Britain had been cut. This has had a detrimental impact on Grantham Tennis Club who used this funding to support 7–10 year old performance players that play at a county and regional level, to help with their coaching and competition programme.

Larkfleet Group, which includes Larkfleet Homes and Allison Homes, prides themselves on supporting local businesses and establishing partnerships that will benefit the wider community. Through this two-year sponsorship deal, Larkfleet Group will make a £5k donation a year to Grantham Tennis Club & Gym to replace the cut in funding from the LTA. This will ensure the clubs 10&U Performance programme remains sustainable and young players continue to be supported.

To celebrate the occasion, Larkfleet Group were invited to attend a presentation event held at the club to announce the sponsorship deal. David Rawlinson, President of the LTA was also in attendance to present the club with a disability and coaching award due to the club’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and creating further opportunities for players.

David Morris, Land Director at Larkfleet Group, who attended the event said: “Larkfleet is a South Kesteven based family run housebuilding company who provide much needed new homes in the Grantham area and across the district. As a company with a longstanding interest in the area we are very keen to help out in the local community where we can, especially where it sustains activities for children as they have undoubtedly suffered immensely over the past 18 months.

“Our corporate mission aligns with the club’s mission of building thriving communities that invest in the future of the next generation to ensure our young people receive opportunities and support that will provide them with greater prospects.
“On behalf of Larkfleet Group, it has been an honour to attend the clubs award ceremony to present them with this funding and we look forward to seeing how this contribution will make a positive impact on our local community.”
Lewis Rae, Mini Tennis Performance Coach at Grantham Tennis Club & Gym said: “We are delighted to announce that Larkfleet Group has agreed to sponsor our 10&U Performance programme for the next two years.
“Like many other businesses this past year, we have had to rebuild after the impacts of covid-19, resulting in a loss of revenue and funding within the sports industry, making us unable to deliver a high-quality training environment for our young players.
